3PAR Thin Provisioning,

3PAR Thin Persistence still benefit from built-in energy savings with 3PAR arrays. For example, a traditional monolithic storage system from a leading storage vendor requires 44% more power than a 3PAR InServ T-Class array that contains the same number of drives.
3PAR InServ arrays also offer two unique RAID hardware features designed to reduce your capacity overhead by leveraging the accelerated performance and Rapid RAID Rebuild capabilities of the 3PAR ASIC. 3PAR Fast RAID 5 and RAID MP (introducing Fast RAID 6 technology) boost RAID performance to within 10-15% of RAID 1 but with significantly less capacity overhead. In fact, Fast RAID 5 is recommended by Oracle
® for use with Oracle Database deployments, where it has been demonstrated to reduce capacity and related energy required for RAID protection by 66 to 88% as compared to traditional storage.
