3PAR Appoints Seasoned Storage Industry Executive to Lead European Direct Sales Team

Former NetApp VP Tim Pitcher to Lead European Sales Effort for 3PAR

LONDON, UK, 28th October 2008

3PAR® (NYSE Arca: PAR), the leading global provider of utility storage, announced today the appointment of Tim Pitcher to the position of Vice President of Direct Sales for Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Pitcher joins the 3PAR team to lead and develop direct sales efforts throughout EMEA in the regions where the company has chosen strategically to have a direct presence, with particular focus on the UK and Germany. Pitcher brings to the team over twenty years of experience in technology sales, of which nearly half of these years have been spent at the VP level.

“3PAR has proven itself to be one of the strongest and most committed storage vendors in EMEA,” said Pitcher. “The company has a loyal and highly skilled team and a network of carefully selected partners who share the company’s same values and vision. My goal is to support my colleagues in EMEA and throughout the world in making 3PAR the de facto provider of next-gen storage, capitalising on the increasing demand for complementary technology delivery models such as cloud computing and Software-as-a-Service.”

Pitcher brings more than eighteen years of storage industry experience to 3PAR, having held VP roles at a number of companies including NetApp, Acopia, and Copan. Over the years, Pitcher has successfully expanded international teams, grown sales in the Benelux and Nordic countries, worked with customers both directly and through a number of channel partners, and successfully focussed on both enterprise and vertical sales.

“Further developing EMEA is a key part of 3PAR's growth strategy,” said David Scott, President and CEO for 3PAR. “Adding Tim Pitcher to our team is a decision we felt necessary to ensure that we are fostering this growth. In the current economic climate, every IT manager is looking to meet targets and SLAs as cost-efficiently as possible. 3PAR is well positioned to play a key role in meeting both cost and service level objectives and Tim’s proven track record makes him the right person to lead 3PAR in capitalizing on these opportunities.”
