The InServ E200 is a mid-range version of 3PAR's leading InServ S400 and S800 arrays and leverages 100% of the same Utility Storage software as the InServ S-Class Storage Servers.

iSCSI Support Extends Utility Storage Benefits Into The Infrastructure

Native iSCSI connectivity for 3PAR InServ® Storage Servers gives new and existing customers the ability to extend the dramatic benefits and cost reductions they receive from implementing 3PAR Utility Storage in their Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks (SANs) to their IP-based SANs as well. With iSCSI support, 3PAR Utility Storage customers can now consolidate even more applications onto a single, efficient, easy-to-use platform that they can manage simply and efficiently across Fibre Channel and IP-based SANs. Users can take advantage of 3PAR's simple administration and increased capacity utilization with 3PAR Thin Provisioning, regardless of their storage network type.

iSCSI for Utility Storage is ideally suited for:

Windows file-based storage consolidation
Large database environments on Windows or Linux
Large Exchange environments

iSCSI connectivity for the InServ Storage Server is enabled via dual-ported iSCSI adapter cards, which may be added to any InServ Storage Server—including the new InServ E200—non-disruptively. Adapters feature complete iSCSI and TCP/IP offload for enhanced performance and support for active-active iSCSI multipathing. iSCSI for Utility Storage is available immediately and is supported with Red Hat® Linux, SUSE® Linux and Microsoft® Windows Server.
