3PAR LAUNCHES DYNAMIC OPTIMIZATION

At last! Service level optimization made simple
3PAR introduces the first and only storage solution that lets users cost-effectively optimize application service levels across all stages of the disk-based data lifecycle. 3PAR Dynamic Optimization allows organizations to align application and business requirements with data service levels easily, precisely and on demand.

Meet service level demands for the lowest cost
With 3PAR, users achieve optimal service levels without the cost and complexity imposed by traditional data migration-based approaches.

3PAR Dynamic Optimization is a far cry from the limitations and complexity required by other optimization approaches that rely on data migration. With Dynamic Optimization there is no guesswork. Our applications are not impacted and our business runs with greater efficiency.

How does it work?
3PAR Dynamic Optimization offers single-command, online and non-disruptive service level optimization in a massively scalable tiered-storage array.

The simplicity of Dynamic Optimization means you will never toerate sub-optimized service levels again!

PICTURE THIS!

3PAR mySnapshot increases productivity with just-in-time test data

How can just a few storage administrators keep up with requests for test copies for dozens or even hundreds of developers, test engineers and DBAs&8212;without delaying time-to-market?

Enter 3PAR's mySnapshot utility. With mySnapshot, your DBAs, software developers and test engineers can now safely and easily make their own copies of test data, instantly. By eliminating the need for storage administrators to provision copies of test data for software development and testing, mySnapshot also eliminates the days or weeks required to request, justify and be allocated such copies&8212;a practice unheard of using traditional storage platforms. mySnapshot simplifies the entire process, speeds development cycles and gives storage administrators more time to concentrate on high-value activities.

Until now, copy and provisioning privileges have been reserved for storage administrators, but with mySnapshot administrators are relieved from these tedious tasks for internal test and development projects. You'll find that mySnapshot will dramatically improve efficiency within your company by empowering users, increasing productivity and improving time-to-market.

3PAR's mySnapshot is great news for organizations who want to get more done with less. It's another case of 3PAR applying their innovative Utility Storage technology to a problem and delivering a solution that rocks.

3PAR GETS INTO THE GRID WITH PAREMUS

Infiniflow

Infiniflow and 3PAR deliver a scalable, agile, secure infrastructure

It's living and growing right in your data center it's:

  • An octopus-like creature out of the movie "Alien"
  • Something beamed up by Scotty from the Starship Enterprise to your enterprise
  • Infiniflow Utility Datacenter Ecosystem™ (UDE™), by Paremus

London-based Paremus is an independent solutions company that combines the skills and experience of industry practitioners with recognized thought leadership. Paremus has come to regard the enterprise information system more as an ecology that lives and grows rather than a collection of stove-piped systems built to meet specific requirements. With Infiniflow, you can view an IT infrastructure as a business data landscape against which anonymous resources transform information.

Recently, Paremus increased the flexibility and scalability of its offering by adding 3PAR Utility Storage to its Infiniflow solution.

"Ultimately, the performance of any distributed computing architecture is limited by the need to persist application state, and the performance of the state persistence mechanism, is in turn, ultimately dictated by the performance of the underlying data storage subsystems used," said Dr. Richard Nicholson, CTO, Paremus. "For this reason, 3PAR storage was selected as the ideal storage platform for Infiniflow."

With 3PAR, you can dramatically increase your overall service levels while reducing storage costs by up to 50%. A perfect compliment to the self-healing and agility characteristics of Infiniflow, 3PAR Utility Storage forms the basis for a unique utility datacenter solution.

ROI ...ROIT ...NOW RTI

Gartner predicts that by 2006, storage provisioning products will be incorporated into real-time infrastructure (RTI) products.

Utility Storage leads users towards a Real Time Infrastructure. As many service providers have discovered, the complexity and brittleness of networked-based virtualization is a dead end.

"Some analysts define RTI as an IT infrastructure shared across multiple customers, business units or applications, where business policies and service-level agreements drive dynamic and automatic optimization of the IT infrastructure, thus reducing costs while increasing agility and quality of service. Others refer to this approach as a utility computing infrastructure.

One of the leading markets for RTI implementations is the service provider industry. Gartner says that market is changing from dedicating equipment to each customer and charging per piece of equipment to offering virtualized' or 'utility computing services that are priced based on usage. Gartner analysts predict that storage providers that do not build application- or utility-based functionality will not grow and will risk becoming extinct."
