AGI Media

AGI Media, a wholly owned subsidiary of MeadWestvaco Corporation, is a supplier of packaging and packaging labels and inserts for CD-format music and DVD-format movies and interactive computer games. AGI Media's customers include: Universal Music Group, BMG Entertainment, EMI Group plc, Sony Music Entertainment, AOL-Time Warner, and 20th Century Fox. Since deploying 3PAR Utility Storage solution, AGI Media has increased capacity utilization to 80%, eliminated the need for SAN switching, and gained the ability to provision storage almost instantly.

The Allant Group is a marketing optimization solution provider that leverages powerful data assets, applications, and highly skilled professionals to maximize marketing spend productivity for their clients. After conducting in-house evaluations of two other major storage suppliers' systems, Allant decided on the 3PAR InServ S800 Storage Server with 17 terabytes of capacity. Allant also purchased the 3PAR InForm Operating System for simplified virtualization capabilities and 3PAR Virtual Copy for advanced snapshot functionality. Since deploying their new storage system, Allant has moved all data from its legacy systems onto the 3PAR array, dramatically simplifying their IT operations.

3PAR enables us to be more efficient and more responsive at the same time. That is good for our customers, and it gives us a competitive advantage. Other vendors' storage solutions that we evaluated required complex additional applications or appliances. 3PAR was the obvious solution to simplify our storage services.

Claria Corporation

Claria Corporation is a leader in online behavioral marketing, serving tens of millions of consumers and more than 1000 advertisers including Yahoo!, Dell, Travelocity.com, and Sprint. Claria publishes advertising messages for top-tier companies and agencies to tens of millions of consumers. Claria chose 3PAR to improve agility and reduce costs in their Solaris environment. In addition, with 3PAR Remote Copy, Claria was able to implement simple and affordable coast-to-coast disaster recovery replication.

3PAR Utility Storage technology allows us to flexibly manage our Solaris environment with significant cost reduction and quicker deployments. Additionally, we have used 3PAR in implementing disaster recovery replication coast-to-coast with simplicity and low cost.

Edelman, combined with two other leading 3PAR Thin Provisioning users, saves approximately one-quarter million kilowatt hours of energy on an annual basis—eliminating the output of nearly 400,000 lbs. of C02 emissions each year. To recognize these leading organizations and their use of Thin Provisioning, 3PAR awarded three customers—IAC, CACI, and Edelman—with the "Think Thin. Think Green." award in 2007. As part of the award recognition, 3PAR purchased $3,000 in carbon offsets on behalf of each winner through TerraPass, the leading retailer of greenhouse gas reduction programs in the US.
