David Scott joined 3PAR as President and CEO in January 2001. Over the past nine years, David has led 3PAR from an early-stage enterprise storage company through the company's successful Initial Public Offering on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: PAR) in November 2007. Under his guidance, 3PAR has defined and introduced Utility Storage, a new category of storage designed for utility and cloud computing. During his tenure, 3PAR has also grown a high-profile and satisfied customer base in large- and medium-sized enterprises, government agencies, and service providers. At the same time, 3PAR has expanded research and development operations into Northern Ireland and developed sales operations globally in the US, UK, Japan, Asia Pacific, Europe and South Africa.
Adriel Lares brings fourteen years of experience in finance to the position of Chief Financial Officer at 3PAR. Since joining the company in 2001, Adriel has successfully led treasury, debt, and equity financing activities including two highly successful equity financing rounds for $32 million in 2004 and $30 million in 2006. More recently, his leadership was essential in taking the company through a $105 million-dollar IPO in November 2007.
Jeff Price
Co-Founder & CTO of System Design
One of 3PAR's founders, Jeff Price joined 3PAR from Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for the development and product definition of the enterprise 1000 to 6000 series of world-class server products. During his tenure, revenue for the server product line grew over ten-fold. Jeff was awarded the prestigious Sun President's Award for his contributions. In addition to his Sun experience, he has worked for startups Encore and Sequoia Systems.
Ashok Singhal brings over twenty years of strong technical experience to his position at 3PAR. Prior to helping found 3PAR in 1999, he was Chief Architect at Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for the system architecture for Sun's next-generation, extremely successful Enterprise 3000 to 6000 server family. As a Sun Distinguished Engineer, he designed and specified the system interface and cache coherence protocol for the UltraSPARC III processor. He was awarded the President's Award in 1996 for his contributions to Sun servers. Earlier, he served as a field engineer for Schlumberger Wireline Services in the People's Republic of China (oilfield services) for two years.
A highly regarded tech executive, Peter Slocum joined 3PAR in 2009 from privately-held ViVOtech, where he was Senior Vice President of Engineering responsible for Engineering, Information Technology, and Customer Support. While at ViVOtech, Peter successfully launched a number of hardware and software products for NFC-enabled mobile phones and RFID readers. Prior to ViVOtech, he was Vice President of Systems Quality Assurance and Engineering Operations at Brocade Communications and Vice President of Engineering at both Cylink Corporation and Octel Communications. Prior to these executive roles, Peter worked as an engineer at Silicon Graphics, MIPS Computer Systems, and Hewlett Packard.
RJ Weigel brings over twenty years of senior sales experience to 3PAR. He joined 3PAR in 2007 as Vice President of North American Sales before being promoted to Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Field Operations in 2009. Prior to his tenure at 3PAR, RJ served as the Vice President of the Central US for NetApp, where he led an aggressive and highly successful expansion effort. Under his leadership, the company saw substantial growth in both direct and indirect markets. RJ also spent seven years at Cisco in a number of different leadership positions, including Operations Director for the Southwest United States. RJ holds a BA in Communications from the University of Iowa.
Rusty Walther brings more than twenty-five years of customer service excellence to the role of Vice President of Customer Services at 3PAR. Rusty joined 3PAR from Data Domain following the company’s acquisition by EMC. Prior to working at Data Domain, Rusty was NetApp’s Senior Vice President of Global Support. He has also held senior support positions at ONI Systems, AboveNet, Nortel, 3Com, and SynOptics. Prior to entering private industry, Rusty spent 16-years in the US Marine Corps building and managing a variety of worldwide IT systems, and departed government service in 1992 as Director of US Marine Corps West Coast Data Center Operations. Rusty has a tremendous track record addressing the specific service-related issues that 3PAR faces as the company scales through the next phase of development.
Craig Nunes has over eighteen years of accomplished marketing experience. Since arriving at 3PAR in 2000, he has led product marketing and management, developed category focus on Utility Storage, managed lead generation and grown company awareness both domestically and internationally. Under Craig's direction, 3PAR has achieved a reputation as a leader in storage for utility computing.
Steve Crimi has over eighteen years of high-impact business development and product management experience. Since joining 3PAR in October 2002, Steve has led 3PAR's business development activities and has established alliances with industry leading companies for IT infrastructure solutions. Under Steve's leadership, these alliances have resulted in 3PAR Utility Storage being qualified with market leading solutions from companies including Oracle®, Microsoft®, Symantec™, IBM®, HP, Sun™, Brocade™, and Cisco®.
Randy Gast brings over twenty years of operations experience to 3PAR. Prior to joining 3PAR, Randy was Vice President of Global Operations at Adaptec, having joined Adaptec in 2004 as part of the Snap Appliance acquisition. Prior to this, Randy served as Senior Director of Worldwide Operations & Materials for the Network Attached Storage Group at Maxtor Corporation and Director of Operations at ADFlex Solutions, a PCBA and FPCA manufacturer in Thailand. Randy's additional experience includes six years at IBM as an engineer and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining high-volume, low-mix PCBA manufacturing. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University with a dual major in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and is a Certified Manufacturing Engineer by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (CMfgE).
Alastair Short brings more than twenty years of experience helping companies develop legal and commercial strategies for growth through new alliances, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and organic growth. Prior to joining 3PAR, he served as Chief Legal Officer and Assistant Secretary for Netigy, a global professional services company. He also served as General Counsel for MetaTV, a global software company. Prior to that, Alastair served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary for Hitachi Data Systems. For twelve years he was responsible for worldwide legal affairs at HDS, which included counseling 25 subsidiaries and its worldwide network of distributors. He also oversaw their Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations Department and Internal Audit function.
Jeannette Robinson has more than twenty years of HR experience. Prior to joining 3PAR she was Vice President of Human Resources at Corsair Communications, a provider of business solutions for the wireless industry. Prior to that, she held human resource management and recruiting positions at various startups including Cisco Systems, NET, and KLA Instruments (now KLA/Tencor). She has a proven track record of establishing effective HR functions to meet the key objectives of hiring and retaining the best employees. She has played a key role in several IPOs and mergers/acquisitions.
Kevin Fong

Kevin Fong is a veteran Silicon Valley venture capitalist with almost two decades of experience. Since March 2008, Kevin has served as a special advisor of GSR Ventures, a venture capital investment firm. From July 1990 to March 2008, Kevin was a managing director of Mayfield Fund, a venture capital investment firm, during which time he groomed a new generation of Mayfield leaders and mentored scores of CEOs. As one of the most respected ethnic Chinese venture capitalists in the Silicon Valley, Kevin also led Mayfield's China-based strategy and investments. Prior to Mayfield, Kevin was an operating executive at networking company David Systems, Hewlett Packard, and Nortel/Bell Northern Research.
Kevin has developed a broad and deep investment focus in the communications, wireless, semiconductor, software, and consumer media sectors. Kevin's notable past investments include Alantec, Crescendo Communications, Legato, Latitude, Mobile 365, Redback Networks, and Tasman Networks. Kevin has served as the non-executive chairman of the 3PAR Board of Directors since January 2007 and has been a member of the board since May 1999. Kevin also currently sits on the boards of Cemaphore Systems, Fultec, Hammerhead Systems, Mendocino Software, ONStor, and Velocity11.
Kevin holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of California at Berkeley and MBA and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Prior to joining Menlo Ventures in 1996, Mark Siegel held product management and consulting management positions at Oracle Corporation and worked in business development at Netscape Communications Corporation. At Menlo Ventures, Mark is focused on early-stage software and communications companies. His recent investments and board seats include: 3PAR, Authoria, Covalent Technologies, diCarta, Emptoris, Phiar, Questra, Sitara Networks, and Tera Systems.
James Wei has been a venture capitalist for the past twelve years. He offers deep expertise in the communications and semiconductor industries and a unique insight and expertise in helping startup companies do business worldwide. James currently serves on the Board of Directors for Movaz Networks, Cogent Communications, 3PAR, Commverge Solutions, Tensilica, Force10 Networks, ONStor, XHP, and Stretch. He also works actively with Mirapoint, Catena Networks, and Sipix Imaging. He is also a founder and an investment committee member of Meritech Capital, a late stage information technology fund with $1.8 billion under management.
Chris Paisley currently serves as the Dean's Executive Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. Much of his career was spent at 3Com, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. During his 15 years at 3Com, the company grew from $50 million to nearly $6 billion in annual sales, ranking in the top 300 on the Fortune-500 list of companies at the time of his departure.

Mark Jung has spent the past twenty years as a successful internet CEO and entrepreneur. Most recently, Mark served as the chief executive officer and a board member of Vudu, Inc., a provider of digital home entertainment and interactive television services. Prior to Vudu, Mark was the Chief Operating Officer of Fox Interactive Media and was responsible for the day-to-day operations of all of its properties including MySpace, IGN Entertainment, FoxSports.com, Scout Media, and AmericanIdol.com. Prior to Fox Interactive Media, Mark was the co-founder and CEO of IGN Entertainment, a leading Internet media and services company for video gaming and other forms of digital entertainment. Mark led IGN's sale to NewsCorp, the parent company of Fox Interactive Media, for $650 million in October 2005. Prior to joining IGN, Mark was the co-founder and CEO of Worldtalk Corporation, an Internet security company that he took public in 1996 and which has since merged with Tumbleweed Communications.
Mark holds an MBA from Stanford Business School and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. He is an active member of the Golden Gate Chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).
Michael Sheridan brings a unique perspective to 3PAR by drawing on his experience in several key leadership positions within successful Web 2.0, Internet entertainment, and Internet security organizations. Prior to joining the 3PAR Board of Directors, Michael served as the CFO of Facebook Inc., a Web-based social utility that helps people communicate more efficiently with their friends, families, and coworkers. Michael also served as the CFO of IGN Entertainment, Inc., a leading Internet media and services provider focused on the video game and entertainment enthusiast markets. As an executive officer of SonicWALL, Inc., an Internet security appliance provider, Michael served in various roles including CFO, Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Vice President of Strategy. He holds a BS in Commerce from Santa Clara University.
A technology investor and consultant to Silicon Valley companies, Michael M. Clair has worked in the computer and communications industries for over 30 years. Michael is currently the Chairman of Phoenix Technologies, a Silicon Valley software company specializing in core PC software and PC virtualization solutions. He was appointed to the Phoenix Technologies Board of Directors in August 2007 before being elected Chairman in January 2008. On the board at Phonenix, he chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and the Compensation Committee.
